Alimosho youths accuse Lagos of neglect

Youths in Alimosho Local Government Area have accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in Lagos State of neglecting the people of the council area in the provision of infrastructure facilities that can make life meaningful to the residents.
Making the accusation at Abesan Estate in Alimosho, the youths of the area alleged that the state government and APC were only interested in securing votes of residents during elections, but always failing to deliver on election promises thereafter.

The spokesman of the youths, Abu Ojeikhere, said at a forum where Mr. Akintoye Branco-Rhodes, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the state was adopted by the youths as their choice for the governorship race.
“In the last 15 years under APC-led government, Alimosho Local Government Area, which is the biggest in the country, has been abandoned by APC and Lagos State Government.  Alimosho is not only the biggest local government area in the state, but also has the largest number of voters, and the residents have always voted for APC. But what have we got in return from APC? Absolutely nothing, and this is why we want to appeal to our people in Alimosho to vote wisely during the 2015 general elections.”
Urging politicians to stop playing politics of deceit, Ojeikhere said: “What we are saying is there for everybody to see. People who have not been to Alimosho should take a trip down here and see for themselves. Our road network is very bad, while health facilities are grossly inadequate to cope with the large population and most infrastructure facilities here are in a state of decay.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Branco-Rhodes promised to transform Lagos State if he clinched PDP ticket as the party’s flag bearer.
