The ex-international has hit hard at the Super Eagles
handler for sideling quality players that ought to have represented the
country
Former Nigeria midfielder Felix Owolabi has tagged coach Stephen Keshi
as ‘stubborn’ following his stringent disciplinary measures against
players that are good enough to represent the country.
According to the former Shooting Stars Sports club player popularly
called ‘Owoblow’ in his active days said the precarious the reigning
African champions has found itself is a testimony of the former Mali
handler inability to manage success."Keshi does not know how to manage success, he is stubborn, and he has managed to sideline players that could have helped us,” Owolabi told NAN.
"The result of Saturday’s match has shown that we may not qualify and it’s sad and embarrassing.
"We were bragging about how we were going to defeat Sudan while Sudan was plotting our fall, our defence and mid-field was in shamble,” Owolabi concluded.
Nigeria host Sudan in the return leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Abuja on Wednesday as hopes of making it to Morocco gets slimmer.
