Govt intervention saved NFF crisis from more calamities –Danagogo

Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tammy Danagogo, has said that if not for the intervention of the Federal Government, the administrative crisis rocking the Nigeria football federation (NFF) would have been more calamitous.
Danagogo made the comment in a chat with the journalists in Abuja, while reacting to the court order from the Ambassador Chris Giwa faction to stop the just concluded NFF election, HE emphasized that if others are facing contempt charges, he would not be part of them

Asked the outcome of the disobeyed court order, he said: “First and foremost, I cannot speak for others, whether they will be facing contempt proceeding, but I am not certainly going to face such because I am well groomed in court order.
“I don’t disobey court order and I don’t encourage anybody to do so. That was why I had to advice both parties in the first place to obey the order and look for solution. But FIFA said it was government interference and most journalists equally said the samething
“I said okay if that was how they feel but it is wrong to disregard the orders of our court. I don’t encourage that, but I cannot speak for others and the 37 states FA chairmen whether they are heading to court.
“If you say whether I have hands-off NFF, I want to tell you that my hands were not in NFF before. The only thing is that while we will not unduly interfere in the affairs of the federations, but when the need arises we have to do it for the good of the game and for the good of all Nigerians. If we don’t take steps, more calamities would have happened.
“As for the court order, lawyers will interpret it and we will decide on what should be and what should not be. I am not aware whether the orders have been fully served in the proper manner but the courts have their own ways of resolving these issues and at the end of the day, it will be resolved,” he agued
