Women ‘ll play major role in Jonathan’s re-election -Amb Adams

The National Coordinator of Women for Goodluck 2015, Ambassador Fatima Adams, has declared that Nigerian women would play a major role in the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in next year’s presidential election.
Speaking at the investiture of Prince Marcus Agubataofia, the deputy chairman of Igbo in PDP in Lagos at the weekend, she said Nigerian women were excited by Jonathan’s declaration and eager to reciprocate the President’s gesture with their votes.

According to her, since the history of Nigeria’s independence, President Jonathan’s administration had been the most women-friendly.
She said the administration had not only given women a sense of belonging by increasing substantially, the number of women in government, it has gone ahead to give women sensitive portfolios that hitherto were handled by men.
To this effect, she said her group would mobilise more than 50 million women to vote for Jonathan in the presidential election.
According to her, the inauguration of the South West states, local government areas, wards and units as well as the investiture of patrons, royal fathers and decoration of advisers, elder statesmen and advisers, are part of the strategies to ensure that President Jonathan wins overwhelmingly in the election.
Responding, Prince Agubataofia thanked the women for the honour bestowed on him, recalling
that he worked assiduously for Jonathan’s victory in 2011, using his office as the vice president of Building Materials Dealers Association in Lagos State.
His words: “I see the honour as an energizer. It will spur me on to do more for president Jonathan especially now that I am the vice chairman of Igbo in PDP  in Lagos State as well as the vice president of Building Materials Dealers Association in the state. I want to commend Amb.Fatima Adams for his ability to spot people with large followership and bringing them together and with that President Jonathan will have a landslide victory.
