Again, INEC postpones distribution of PVCs, commencement of CVR in Katsina

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has again postponed the distribution of Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and the commencement of Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise in Katsina State.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Abubakar Wara, disclosed this yesterday at an emergency meeting with the election stakeholders’ forum in Katsina.

Consequently, the three-day distribution of PVCs will now begin on December 6, 2014, while CVR will take place between December 10 and 15.
The postponement, according to the electoral commissioner, was necessitated by the failure of the printers to deliver the required materials as scheduled.
His words: “I hope you will please bear with us for giving you short notice to this meeting but it is all in a bid to furnish you as quickly as possible with information on this recent development.
“Let me once again, on behalf of INEC, tender our unreserved apology for this sudden postponement for the second time, which was not deliberate but necessitated by pressing logistics challenges we encountered.
”However, I want to assure you that we are determined to overcome all these challenges and continue to prepare even more to conduct these exercise successfully God willing.
“I wish to reiterate that the methodology, guidelines, procedures and processes virtually remain the same as fully highlighted in my first meeting with you on these exercises.”
