Vote out PDP, Amaechi tells Rivers people

Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State has charged the people of the state to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Federal Government in 2015 general elections in order to secure their future.
Speaking at Degema, the headquarters of Degema Local Government Area at the weekend, during the commissioning of an 8,000-seating football stadium complex, built by the local government administration, Amaechi said PDP had nothing to offer to Kalabari people, adding that one of the ways of regaining their lost oil wells and benefitting from democratic governance was by voting out the PDP.
The governor accused the president of taking sides in the Soku oil wells matter, recalling how the president allegedly reacted to the issues during a meeting with Kalabari Chiefs.

“In that meeting, before the Kalabari chiefs, Mr. President said to us, ‘you people call it Soku, we from Bayelsa call it Oluasiri’. ‘Is Soku Oluasiri?’ he questioned and the people said, ‘no’.
“As president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he was not supposed to take sides. The moment he said it is called Oluasiri, he is taking sides and we have no faith in Mr. President returning our oil wells. They have taken the (Soku) oil wells; they are spending the money because they have the Presidency.”
